Yes, Making Changes To Your Diet CAN Help Rid You Of Your Bacterial Vaginosis

When you first discover how to get rid of bacterial vaginosis using a natural bacterial vaginosis treatment regime, you might be taken aback by the number of different options available to you.

You may find some cures that give mild to moderate relief, others that dont' work, but you are unlikely to find any one cure that really gets rid of your BV the way you wanted it to. Some treatments work for some lucky people, whereas they dont' work for others. Despite that the methods in this article are different.

After much research and following a number of my own clinical experiments with bacterial vaginosis remedies on hundreds of my clients, I have uncovered 2 dietary methods that can help ALL women who suffer from BV.

Most methods on curing BV that rely on your diet, work by addressing your body's immune system. Clinical experiments have shown again and again that these treatments really DO work.

One of the most powerful assets you have on your journey to cure yourself of bacterial vaginosis permanently, is your immune system.

"The most successful way to treat bacterial vaginosis in a way that it never comes back, is to equip these dietary tactics as the foundation, the roots and the backbone of all other treatments in your regime."

After my many years of experience I have found that those who get the best results are those who are backed up by a solid immune response built from a diet rich in key naturally immune-modifying micronutrients.

So it would do you much good to learn the following – two dietary changes that are proven to help women treat their BV permanently:

Dietary Tactic #1: Reducing The Consumption Of Saturated Fat

Clinical and scientific studies have demonstrated a pertinent link between how much fat is in your diet and how likely you are to have BV. It's important to note that a high dietary fat intake doesn't just increase your chances of getting BV, it also makes your symptoms more severe.

Hence depending on the specific nature of your BV and its unique causes, you stand a chance at curing your BV completely simply by cutting out saturated fats from your diet. A high saturated fat intake does more than just limit the local immune response of the vagina, it also increases the pH within your vagina, resulting in the almost immediate proliferation of bad bacteria.

Saturated fats include hard fats like butter, lard and ghee. They are also found in full fat milk, red meat, skin, cheese, cakes and biscuits. Reducing your intake of such food groups can really help you to get rid of your BV quickly and permanently.

Monunsaturated fats that are found for example in vegetable oils also make BV worse, but to a much lesser extent than saturated fats. If you DO want to indulge in a type of fat, I'd advise you go for polyunsaturated fats, which are found in whole grain wheat for example. These exact no significant effect on BV symptoms.

So the bottom line here is to avoid SATURATED fats in particular. In all the population studies, there is a very strong association between high saturated fat in the diet and severity of bacterial vaginosis symptoms.

For the above reasons, one powerful tactic you can start using as of this moment, is to reduce your fat intake, or there's the option of changing your choice of fat from saturated to unsaturated.

Dietary Method Two: Eating More Foods That Contain Vitamin E

Taking vitamin E helps you fight infections, this is a widely accepted fact in the medical community. It is commonly accepted that people on vitamin E supplements have a lower infection rate than people who are not.

Does YOUR body have a sufficient supply of vitamin E to boost your immune system? Clinical studies have shown a very strong correlation between the bioavailability of this particular micronutrient in your diet and BV. Your bacterial vaginosis symptoms are likely to respond very strongly to an increase in your intake of this nutrient.

There are many other different and useful benefits of vitamin E. You are protected from having strokes for example, due to the protective effect on artery walls.

The symptoms and incidence of BV may also be reduced by an increase of vitamins A and C. Hands down however, vitamin E has been found to be the most effective according to new research.

In the clinical studies conducted, most other vitamins were found to have nil effect on the incidence of BV, or they were incomparable to the effects of vitamin E.

"Women with low vitamin E intake have been found to be more likely to have BV. Plus there was also a dose-dependent relationship between vitamin E and bacterial vaginosis symptoms."

Most of these clinical studies are quite new, so it's hard to find these data on the internet. You'd have a better chance by searching around on pubmed..

The FNB suggest that you take around 22 International Units of vitamin E daily.

Listed below are some foodtypes that can help you get more of this vitamin in your system:

Sunflower seeds, Safflower oil, Almonds, Hazelnuts, Kiwi, Broccoli, Spinach.

There's also the choice of taking vitamin E tablets, although changing your diet is sufficient and more safe in my opinion. Supplements used to be considered as being completely safe, but their safety has come under much scrutiny of late, which is why I usually suggest you increase your consumption of vitamin E rich foods rather than take tablets.

But if you insist on taking supplements, I suggest you take a maximum of 250 IU of vitamin E per day, preferably 100 IU per day. Make sure you see your physician prior to taking vitamin E supplements.

So Just To Wrap Up

Vaginal infections like BV largely depend upon how well your immune system is functioning. If your immune system played a small part in causing your BV, replacing dietary deficiencies is a great way to help ensure your BV symptoms don't come back after treatment.

Instead women who are self-medicating don't seem to even know about the immune system as being a factor in bacterial vaginosis and focus only on killing the bacteria manually using bactericidal agents like antibiotics, tea tree oil and the like.

My advice to you is work on the immune system first, and use other treatments on top - as an ancillary to the fortification of your immune system.

So start reducing your saturated fat levels and increase your vitamin E levels from today and you will likely find keeping those BV symptoms at bay becomes much easier than ever before.
